Huntley 158 Seal

Dear Huntley 158 Staff and Families,

Late last night, a ruling on the appeal of the temporary restraining order (TRO) which was granted on February 4, 2022 in the case Austin v. Pritzker was handed down by the appellate court. This appeal was dismissed by the court following the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules decision earlier in the week to reject the emergency rules set forth by IDPH. As a result of this dismissal, our schools will experience no change in current masking requirements. The district will continue to strongly recommend that masks be worn in our schools.

We will provide further updates and information detailing our district’s path forward as it pertains to the proposed updates to our 2021-22 Return to School plan during our March Board of Education meetings. To view the proposed updates to our decision making process and COVID-19 mitigation framework in the absence of the Governor’s mask mandate, please see the most recent Superintendent’s Report here. Please keep in mind that our students will not be in attendance until Wednesday, February 23 due to the extended President’s Day weekend. As always, our priority remains the success and safety of our students and staff as we prioritize an in-person learning environment.

Thank you, again, for your patience and partnership.

Sincerely,

Scott Rowe, Ed.D.
Superintendent
